Welcome…I’m Jennie!
Thanks for visiting my website! This site is a jumping off tool, a space for you to learn a bit more about me, my background and my passion to support adults and children as they learn tools to support happier and healthier lives!
I am a former special education teacher, yoga teacher and mom to three incredible kids. I have spent the last 20 years supporting children (and families) develop self-regulation skills using breath, movement, mindfulness practices and specially designed instruction in the classroom and private OT settings. I first connected the idea of using yoga and breath to support children while I was teaching a high school program for autistic young adults with high sensory needs and limited social communication. I knew how my body felt after I took a yoga class and wanted to see if I could bring that support my students to feel that same sense of calm, connection and grounding I felt. That “experiment” was a HUGE success and led me to pursue a yoga teaching certificate and eventually publish my work teaching yoga to autistic children in the International Journal of Yoga Therapy. Those high schoolers I taught long ago are now adults but my passion for this work has not waned, if anything it has been strengthened by the years working with students in the classroom, families in the private clinic setting and now with my own children as a parent myself. I know without a doubt that self regulation is a key part of living a happy, connected and healthy life for ourselves and the children we support.
Today, I bring these years of experience and knowledge from experts in the science and medicine field to support children, caregivers and educators to build resilience, managing stress and regulate their emotions and energy. I lead workshops, trainings and consult in schools helping participants understand their nervous systems and how to better support themselves and the children they work with. I also work with children and families directly in the private clinic setting and virtually.
I look forward to connecting with you!
